Official Easter Photos 2016

We managed to get a few photos taken before church this Resurrection Sunday.

Jax insisted upon operating the camera's timer, and I love the sweet photo that resulted from his curiosity.
The kiddos have learned that I always take a few shots to adjust the camera settings and lighting.  These photos often end up being some of my favorites, and they almost always cause me to laugh out loud.  This one was no exception.

The obligatory Easter egg dying photos...turned bad.

Easter 2015

While on staff at our church, we always had responsibilities during all 4 Easter services.  Well...this year we still participated in all 4 services.  I have decided that I wouldn't want to spend my Easter weekend any other way.

It really was the perfect weekend celebrating the death and resurrection of my Jesus.  (He can be your Jesus too.  He is cool like that.)

I always have very low expectations for capturing a beautiful family photo on Easter, and most years live up to my expectations.  However, I was shocked to find this photo on my camera yesterday afternoon.  This was the "take 1" shot (gasp), and it is absolutely perfect in my mind's eye.  I am claiming that it was an Easter miracle...not comparable to Jesus' Resurrection, but a gift to this momma nonetheless.

I am pretty confident that Jax is thinking..."I am too cool for these crazies!"

For the record, I informed Andrew that his dad and brother would be wearing bow ties on Easter, and I excitedly offered to buy him one too.  He looked at me as if I had 3 heads and replied, "No thanks!"  Guess who wished he had a bow tie on Easter morning?  Next year?   A momma can hope!

Easter 2014

It is getting harder by the second to capture an accurate photo of the J Man.  He is busy and very interested in cameras.

We served in the children's department at church on Saturday night allowing us to just attend service on Easter.  It was still super hectic trying to get everything accomplished while making it to church on time.  We went to Grandpa and Grandma H's house for lunch and family fun.  Aunt Jill, Uncle Dale, Hannah, and Breanna managed to put together the world's most difficult Easter egg hunt for the kiddos.  It was a beautiful day spent reflecting on the fact that our Savior is alive!

We didn't buy new outfits for Easter Sunday (ain't got time for that), but we did manage to match.  Orange is totally an Easter color...right?

Babies and Bunnies

Thankfully they are my babies, but not my bunnies.

Sweet Anita at Birdie Belle Photography took these adorable photos of my 3 tiniest loves.  We thought that Jaxson would love the bunnies.  He didn't quite know what to think when we quickly set him down and started piling bunnies on his lap.  It was only a 15 minute photo shoot so there was no time for a slow introduction.

Our "Widdle" Bunny

I mentioned taking Jax's photo dressed like a bunny to the oldies last week.  They held me accountable, and the photo shoot happened this morning.  Boy...I am so thankful that it did.

People get excited...the Easter Bunny is coming!

Easter 2013

We had the wonderful opportunity of celebrating our Risen Savior again this year.  It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but I can not imagine a better way to spend my time.

This photo was taken after our 5th worship service in 5 days.  We had the privilege of ministering to approximately 300 children this weekend.  We had a super exciting carnival on Friday evening, an egg drop on Saturday evening, and two beautiful worship services on Sunday where Scott presented the beautiful resurrection story.

I am so thankful for our Savior and a weekend full of beautiful people that we call family.

I hope that your Easter was as beautiful too.

I don't know if I will ever understand boys!

After dyeing our Easter eggs, A decided that he would mix all of the highly concentrated Kool-Aide together and take a little sip.
What does a good mother do?
Of course, I took a few photos of the memorable experience.

Yep...I tried to tell him!
