Peach Pickin'

The summer before last, Scott made delicious peach jam.  He was determined to stock our pantry shelves with several batches this year.  We decided to take advantage of the beautiful Sunday afternoon and head to Eckert's to pick peaches.

We are now one step closer to yummy peach jam.

A Beautiful July Afternoon Spent in the Country

On Saturday, we visited grandma and grandpa in the O.B.  It was a gorgeous 80 degree day at the end of July.  We spent the day visiting, playing, fishing, and boating.  Jaxson even got to meet great grandma, great grandpa, Wayne, and Sherri for the first time.

Yep....she has the fella wrapped around her fingers too.

Andrew was driving the boat.  Needless to say, Oli was holding on for dear life.

Did I mention that it was a gorgeous day?

Sister's Tea House 2013

Andrew has been at his 3rd basketball camp for the summer, and he is absolutely loving it.  I told Oli that she could pick 2 places to visit this week. Her first choice was Sister's Tea House with a friend.  Sister's Tea House is always a hit with my sweet princess and her pals.

Jaxson also had his second "I love my sister SO much" experience.  They decided that for the afternoon he would be called Prince James.  He had to get dressed up and attend a beautiful tea party for 3.  Thankfully, he slept through the entire fiasco.  Have I mentioned that he is a super easy baby?

Andrew happened to view these photos of Jaxson.  He shook his head and said, "Poor baby.  I am SO glad that I was at camp!"  The joys of having a sister?!

My Sweet Scotty Had a B-Day!

 We celebrated My Sweet Scotty's 37th birthday on Friday by watching Despicable Me 2 and eating at Culver's.  I have now managed to celebrate 17 of his 37 years.  He still gets cuter and sweeter every day.

I wanted a few photos of Scott with his kiddos.  I walk out of the house after retrieving my camera to discover this scene.  What can I say...they love getting their photo taken..

 I managed to snap one good photo before the crazies started again. Even Jaxson managed to pull off a silly face.

Jaxson is 2 Months!

Jaxson Man turned 2 months old on Saturday.

We took him today for his 2 month old check-up.   He weighed 13 pounds and 8 ounces, and he was 23 inches long.

She confirmed what we already knew...he is perfect!

First Family Walk/Bike

Our summers are always full of super fun and exciting adventures.  However, the simple times are by far my favorite.  We packed the van on Thursday night and headed to the park.  The weather was perfect and so was the company.

I placed Jaxson on Oli's bed one morning this week while I organized her too full dresser drawers.  Oli decided that she would rather help by keeping Jaxson company.

I have no idea how we will manage when school starts.  She is such a big help and welcome distraction.  I am confident that Jaxson and I will not be shedding tears alone.  She is really going to miss her Baby Jaxson when school starts.

July Birthday Celebration

Dale invited us over for lunch on Sunday to celebrate his birthday.  Our entire family was together for the very first time in over 7 years (long, complicated story).  It was absolutely delightful.  I loved seeing the beautiful (inside and out) young woman that Savannah has become, and J.J. was absolutely precious.  I am so thankful for an afternoon spent catching up with people that we love and several that we have missed desperately.

Jaxson was in such an alert, happy mood.  He was smiling and cooing until I broke out the camera.

Hot Shot Star

Last week, Andrew attended his second basketball camp for the summer.  He loved every second that he spent playing competitively against boys his same age.  He came home on Thursday super-de-duper excited to tell me that he won the Hot Shot Competition for the 3rd grade boys scoring 43 points.  I love his excitement for this sport and the determination that he has to continually improve.  His dedication and hard work are definitely paying off.  

At this rate, he might just be playing for his beloved MIZZOU in 10 years.

Jaxson-7 Weeks

Week seven was such a fun week with Little Man.  He is spending a lot more time awake which leads to a lot more interaction.  He really started smiling this week at our silly antics, and we even made him giggle out loud on multiple occasions.  He started making intentional sounds, and he loves it when we mimic him.  At church on Wednesday evening, he started kicking, squealing, and waving his arms when he heard Scott's voice.  Did I mention that he slept at least 7 straight hours every night?  He is such a perfect gift, and he brings joy to all who meet him.

Shoes!

Olivia has always loved shoes.

Yesterday, she went with the boys to buy Andrew new basketball shoes.  While shopping she stated, "Dad, I think that I have a problem.  I am attracted to older shoes!" 

Sweet Jaxson Kisses

I love smooching this sweet boy's cheeks, and I am convinced that he has started kissing me back.  Really!  Most certainly!

Please ignore that gray hair.  By the time Jaxson starts kindergarten, I will probably be mistaken for his grandma.

Fourth of July

Our Fourth of July was quite different this year.  Olivia woke up early on the 4th with a headache and fever.  Needless to say, we didn't attempt the parade downtown.  We were all slightly disappointed, but it was probably for the best.  Scott, Andrew, and Jaxson did attend the Holman family picnic while Olivia and I snuggled and napped.  Thankfully, she was feeling better in time to watch fireworks in the backyard.

Scott and I believe that Andrew loves the Fourth of July more than Christmas.  He even bought a few fireworks with his own money.  Trust me...he doesn't let go of his money easily.
