A Boy, Blue Tape, and Boredom

Last Friday, Andrew found himself in trouble several times. I had spent a significant amount of time sorting the week's laundry into nice color coordinated piles. In between my first and second loads, I entered the laundry room to find Andrew sitting in a gigantic pile of laundry flinging dirty clothes into the air. Let's just say that momma wasn't happy. Later that afternoon, I discovered this........

I am still not sure how he managed this, but the clean-up wasn't nearly as much fun. Summer boredom and a creative kiddos equal memories and laughter for years to come.

A Day at the Zoo

Andrew was able to touch a hammerhead shark which was quite exciting.

Olivia found this nose picking creature very entertaining.

The St. Louis Zoo is by far one of the best things about living in St. Louis.

Backyard Camp-Out

Daddy surprised you both last Friday by putting up the super large tent in the backyard. It was almost successful. However, Our protective Skipper would bark EVERY time a door would open or light would flash. Camping in the city isn't easy.

Sibling Love

The greatest part of my grandma's birthday celebration was that her older brother traveled from Michigan to surprise her. She is a gal who loves her brother. Only 13 months separate them in age, and they have always been two peas in a pod.

I couldn't help but throw in a photo of my little brother. I hope that he visits me on my 80th birthday!

Grandma's 80th Birthday Celebration

Grandma thought that she was spending the afternoon with this little miss. Little did she know that the majority of her family was waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump out and yell, "SURPRISE!"

It was an absolutely wonderful day celebrating one of my favorite ladies. Happy 80th Birthday Grandma Trout! You are truly great! Thanks for creating such wonderful, unforgettable memories for me. I always smile at the thought of you!

The Cheering Section

These photos were taken as Olivia practiced riding her bike without the training wheels. Bubba was at the finish line waving the victory flag. They may bicker CONSTANTLY, but they sure love each other bunches when it counts. (Doesn't he look so grown up? Melt my heart!)

A Lesson in Integrity

Summer was spelled sommer. Andrew instantly said, "Mom, I will tell Mrs. K in the morning. I don't deserve a 100." He returned home with his spelling test and this special note.

Andrew just discovered that he can read to his sister. (I have been trying to get him to do this for 2 years.) He actually enjoyed it, and Olivia was entertained for a few minutes.
