A Month of Thankfulness Day 27

This self-proclaimed homebody loves her home.  I strongly believe that the perfect house has nothing to do with the size, style, or even location.  A perfect house is a structure that reflects those who call it home.

We have grown into our home.  Learning to make the best use of every inch of space has been a true creative adventure for me.

Our home is a place where...

-peace, love, forgiveness, and laughter always rule.
-newborn babies were welcomed home.
-first steps were taken and first teeth were lost.
-friendships were strengthened.
-prayers were answered.
-dreams became reality.

I have spent months debating sharing the pages of our profile book.  Let's just say, it makes me feel so vulnerable.  With that said, I have made a commitment to always be an open book on the slight chance that I  might be an encouragement to someone else.

Here are "Our Home" pages...

Of course what really makes a home are the critters that live there.

As the years pass, I am more and more aware of the fact that this Earth is not my home.  I am just passing through on my way to Heaven.

However, I am so very thankful for the cozy house that gives me a little taste of what Heaven will be like.

Oliviaisms

-"What matters?"
-"Seriously"
-"lame"
Before taking this photo, I asked her to explain what she was doing.  She responded, "Trying to figure out which worm is the squiggliest!"

Sunday Afternoon at Dale and Jill's House

I should have posted these photos with my Mother's Day entry. Gotta love hindsight.  We had such a fun afternoon in the woods at Dale and Jill's house.  Needless to say, I felt the need to document the day in more detail.
Brenda and the kiddos made these adorable stepping stones for me.  Their footprints and fingerprints make a butterfly.  I love them!
The kiddos were determined to feed the chickens out of their hands.  It took patience, persistence, and a lot of bread, but it happened.

Trust me...there were a number of safety steps and lectures involved in making this photo, not to mention an incredibly anxious mother.

I just may be in a lot of trouble for posting the next photo.  It is worth the risk!
Scott is showing Andrew where he hit the target!  I hope that it made you laugh too because I just might be sleeping in the dog house tonight!

Grandma called last night to inform Olivia that one of the bannie's eggs had actually hatched. Olivia had been patiently keeping up with the baby chick status for weeks. By morning, two more had hatched. After picking up the kiddos from school, we headed to grandpa's farm. It would be an understatement to say that O was excited.  Andrew thought that they were pretty adorable too.
